It starts with determining what are your business needs. Do you have well defined workflows for your sales team? Do your services offer trial periods and for how long? What does your product line looks like? What do your quotes look like? Do you need to take credit card payments online?

Then we look at what features are supported in the CRM available in the market, how configurable they are, how many users do you require, and which budget your business is comfortable with.

When possible, we try to do a test run of the top CRM option. Regardless, we want to bring in the teams that will be using the software and demo the platform, explain the business expectations, hear their concerns and adjust the implementation plan.

It isn’t a difficult process, if you have the right partner guiding you.

It depends on how much customization you need, based on your business requirements. We have had implementations in as little as a month (little to no customization) and as long as 4 months (well customized, but no external integrations with other platforms). Our recommendation is to have a methodical agile approach where the platform is released as soon as the minimum viable requirements are ready (usually configured Accounts, Contacts, and Opportunities), and then iterate over the solution to customize other features.
